After moving to another city, Sunny E. returned to Dallas ISD to build her legacy. She transferred to Moisés E. Molina High School in her sophomore year to make her family proud and to inspire others.
“It was hard moving from one whole city to another,” Sunny said. “But I made a promise to myself and my mom that if I move back to Dallas, I’m going to leave some sort of legacy and bring new opportunities for the students and myself.”
She now serves as senior class president, captain of the speech and debate team, and a member of the National Honor Society.
As a first-generation college student, Sunny plans to study political science at the University of Texas at Austin before pursuing law at Southern Methodist University, choosing this career after being inspired by speech and debate.
Sunny’s success is one of the reasons why families are taking a closer look at Dallas ISD and exploring more choices close to home at neighborhood Legacy schools.
At the Dallas ISD More Choice Expo Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. at the Automobile Building at Fair Park, families can explore nearly 200 schools with college and career opportunities and dual-language offerings. Meet school leaders and enroll early for the 2026–2027 school year.
